Martin Lund

Martin Lund is a Senior Lecturer in religion at the Department of Society, Culture and Identity at Malmö University, in Malmö, Sweden. His main research interests are the intersections of religion, identity, race and ethnicity, urban space and place, and comics. He is the author of Re-Constructing the Man of Steel: Superman 1938-1941, Jewish American History, and the Invention of the Jewish-Comics Connection (Palgrave Macmillan, 2016), and co-editor of Muslim Superheroes: Comics, Islam, and Representation (with A. David Lewis; ILEX Foundation/Harvard University Press, 2017), Unstable Masks: Whiteness and American Superhero Comics (Ohio State University Press, 2020), and the Encapsulations: Critical Comics Studies book series for University of Nebraska Press. He has published widely in academic journals, anthologies, and popular outlets.
